Vietnamese Strong Drip Coffee – Bold Flavor of Traditional Vietnam

1. Flavor Profile

For coffee lovers who enjoy a strong caffeine kick, Vietnamese strong drip coffee is always a top choice. This coffee delivers a bold, full-bodied taste with a deep aroma and powerful intensity. Behind its strong profile, you can still find a subtle astringency and a natural lingering sweetness.

Compared to lighter coffee styles, this blend represents the authentic and traditional Vietnamese coffee experience in a stronger form. It is especially suitable for milk coffee, bạc xỉu, or salt coffee, where a rich coffee base blends perfectly with sweetness to create a unique and memorable flavor.

As coffee intensity increases across different blends, bitterness becomes more pronounced, aroma grows deeper, and the natural sweetness appears more clearly in the aftertaste.

2. Benefits

Strong coffee is well known for its ability to stimulate the nervous system, improve focus, and boost energy levels. This is why it is widely preferred by office workers, early risers, and individuals who need high concentration for creative or demanding work.

However, due to its higher caffeine content, it is recommended to enjoy strong coffee after breakfast to ensure comfort and maximize its energizing effect.

A cup of Vietnamese strong drip coffee is not just a beverage—it is a sensory experience. From its signature aroma to its bold bitterness, every element contributes to a rich and satisfying coffee moment.

3. How to Brew Vietnamese Drip Coffee

Step 1: Prepare Equipment

  • Tâm Cà Coffee: ground coffee or whole beans (if using a grinder)
  • Drip filter set: traditional Vietnamese drip brewing tool
  • Glass cup: recommended for best visual and taste experience
  • Hot water: ideal temperature 93–95°C (199–203°F)

Step 2: Brewing Process

  • Add 20g of coffee into the drip filter and gently level the surface
  • Lightly press with the filter lid
  • Bloom the coffee with 10–15ml of hot water (90–95°C) and wait for 1 minute
  • After blooming, slowly pour 60ml of hot water into the filter
  • Ideal extraction time: 5–7 minutes

Step 3: Enjoy

This coffee is suitable for various drinks such as:

  • Vietnamese iced black coffee
  • Bạc xỉu
  • Salt coffee
  • Milk coffee

The drip brewing method relies on two key principles:

First, maintain stable heat inside the filter during extraction.

Second, allow the coffee grounds to bloom before full extraction by adding a small amount of hot water. This helps release the natural aroma and ensures a well-rounded flavor profile.

Watching each drop of coffee slowly drip into the cup creates a calming and mindful moment. It is not only about making coffee but also about appreciating patience and finding balance in a fast-paced life.
